North West's 4x4 terrain is mostly open bushveld and Magaliesberg rock — not the most technical but scenic.
Notable Routes
Magaliesberg — Olifantsnek Area — Several farm tracks in the kloof and mountains. Some tricky rock sections. Popular with club runs.
Pilanesberg Back Roads — The S-roads inside Pilanesberg are mostly gravel and give excellent game viewing. Safari-style driving.
Madikwe — Game Drive Routes — Some sections require 4x4. Guided drives available, or self-drive with permit.
Groot Marico River Area — Farm tracks along the Marico River. Beautiful, quiet, bushveld scenery. Herman Charles Bosman country.
