Bronkhorstspruit 4x4 Trail — Popular day trail east of Pretoria. Muddy in summer. Good for beginners wanting to try a winch situation.
Cradle Moon 4x4 Trail — Mogale City. Private farm, various difficulty levels, self-drive. Book ahead.
Hennops 4x4 Trail — Centurion. River crossings, rock climbs, fun for a Saturday. Multiple tracks for different skill levels.
Rietvlei 4x4 Route — Light trail within the reserve. Good to introduce the bakkie to some dirt without drama.
Most serious Gauteng 4x4ers drive to Limpopo, Mpumalanga, or the Cederberg for proper trailing. Day trips are the norm here.
